The aim of this module is to provide Family Medicine registrars with the knowledge and skills and attitudes necessary for leadership and management in district health services in Malawi. It includes six cross-cutting themes with corresponding learning objectives and activities. These have been developed based on the curriculum and maybe adapted based on the learning needs submitted by registrars. The core activities of the module comprise a leadership training opportunity, attachment at your district training site and a 3-4 week attachment at Neno District Hospital under Partners in Health. This is complemented by a short (1 week) placement at the Ministry of Health in Lilongwe and interaction with key partner organizations. Assessment of module learning will include written reports and reflections, an audit project and/or QI project, and oral presentations.
