This course introduces you to statistical concepts and analytical methods used in biological, medical and other health related research. It aims at preparing students to apply or use statistical tools to analyze data and interpret the results.

- Distinguish among different measurement scales and choose appropriate statistical methods based on these distinctions
- Apply common descriptive statistical methods to analyse health care data and interpret the results
- Apply basic concepts of probability random variation and commonly used statistical probability distributions
- Apply inferential statistical methods to analyse health care data and interpret the results
- Carry out a significance test using hypothesis and confidence intervals methods
- Compute and interpret the significant relationship between two categorical variables
- Compute and interpret the relationship between two variables using correlation and regression analysis
